With the ongoing affects of COVID-19 and disruption to “business as usual”, we have put together a list of recommendations to help businesses re-engage with their customers.
1. Re-evaluate your customers needs
Have a think about your current clients or ideal customer — what situation are they in right now? Are they working from home, serving on the front-lines, had their hours cut or lost their job?
Once you better understand their current needs, you can assess your readiness to meet them.
2. Shift towards an at-home audience
Due to COVID-19, people are spending a lot more time at home – and it looks like it’s here to stay. Think about how you can pivot your strategy to better serve their needs. And what can you do to stimulate them during these times?
Think about what products and services can be more relevant to your audiences new norm – specifically, staying at home.
3. Embrace new sales channels
A major consequence of lockdown is the large decrease in foot-traffic in stores and shopping strips, which has also sadly seen a number of shop closures. If they haven’t done so, brick-and-mortar stores must start selling online, or double-down on their online presence or digital marketing, in order to keep up with the wave of new online business.
4. Find opportunities to value add or offer specials

5. Engage with your best customers
Everyone has heard of the 80/20 rule. 80% of your profits will be generated from just 20% of your current customers. Now more than ever is the time to reach out to your most valued clients. Have a chat, discover their pain points, and offer solutions to help solve their problems. At a minimum you get a good chat and a virtual coffee date.
The ability to see things differently can create practical solutions and opportunities for people that don’t just want to ride it out, but bloom through these times of un-usual.
